Staff Software Engineer, TLM, Quantitative Evaluations

About the role

Lead a team developing driving-quality metrics and evaluating the robustness and performance of the Waymo Driver using machine learning, statistics, algorithms, simulation, and real-world driving logs. Set the team's strategy and roadmap, guide projects from ambiguous requirements to impactful deliverables, promote code quality, and collaborate across engineering, data science, statistics, and leadership. Requires a master's degree or PhD in computer science, robotics, statistics, physics, mathematics, or another quantitative field, along with at least five years of software engineering experience. Candidates should have technical leadership experience and production proficiency in C++ or Python; team management, machine learning, A/B testing, SQL analysis, and autonomous-vehicle industry experience are preferred.
